About the Koenigsegg Jesko 1:24
The Jesko is named after the founder's father and is built to be the fastest car in the world, with a twin-turbo V8 that makes 1,600 hp on E85 and a rear wing the size of a dining table. The model reproduces that wing on its twin uprights, the deep roof scoop and the front splitter that runs the width of the car. It is one of the wider cars in the catalogue at 1:24, so it takes up shelf sideways rather than lengthways.
The doors use Koenigsegg's dihedral synchro-helix action, swinging out and rotating up at the same time, and the model gets that motion right. Opening either door turns on the lights and plays the engine sample, which is a different trigger from most models and a nice one. Front and rear covers lift, the rear over the V8. The rear axle has a pull-back motor.
Buy it for someone who watches top-speed record attempts, or to sit beside the Bugatti Chiron in the same scale, which is the car it was built to beat.
Living with a 1:24 scale model
At 1:24 the model is around 19 cm long, compact enough for a desk and big enough for the doors to open and the dashboard to be readable. This is the scale to buy if you want a few cars rather than one, and the pull-back motor and lights make it the safest choice for a young enthusiast.
