About the McLaren 720S 1:24
The 720S is the McLaren that made the brand's shape recognisable: the headlamps sunk into deep sockets that double as air intakes, the doors with the channel carved into them to feed the engine, and the teardrop cabin. The model gets the sockets right as recessed clear parts, and the door channels are moulded rather than printed.
The doors open up and out on dihedral hinges. The front cover lifts onto the luggage well, and the rear cover lifts over the twin-turbo V8 with its exposed intake plenum. The wheels are the 720S's ten-spoke design on rubber tyres and roll freely. Paint on this batch is a McLaren orange.
It is the McLaren to buy if you want the road car; the Senna in the same scale is the track version that grew from it.
Living with a 1:24 scale model
