About Jeep toy cars and diecast scale models
The Wrangler's party trick is a hardtop that lifts off in both scales, exposing the roll cage and seats. The 1:18 also has a removable rear section and an opening bonnet. It is one of the sturdier models we sell and a safe choice for younger enthusiasts.
Roof off
The Wrangler Rubicon is the model we recommend most often for a younger enthusiast, because it does something no other car here does: the hardtop lifts off. In 1:24 the roof comes away in one piece to show the roll cage and the seats. In 1:18 the roof comes off in two sections, front and rear, the doors open, the bonnet lifts, and there is a spare wheel on the tailgate that swings with it. Both versions have a pull-back motor and lights.
Durability
The Wrangler is the sturdiest model in the store. It has a high floor, thick sills, no low spoilers and mirrors that sit close to the body. It is the one model we are comfortable recommending for a six-year-old who will actually play with it. The parts to watch are the roof clips, which should be pressed straight down rather than at an angle.
