About the Mitsubishi Pajero 1:24
The Pajero won the Dakar twelve times, seven of them in a row, and in India it was the Pajero Sport and the old Pajero SFX that put Mitsubishi on the map for a generation. This model is the fourth-generation Pajero, the boxy one with the flared arches, the side-hinged rear door carrying the spare and the two-tone body with the lower half in grey.
Doors, bonnet and the rear door open, the lights and an engine sound work from a button, and the pull-back motor is in the rear axle. The body is metal in white with the roof rails and the bumpers in black. It is a tall model for 1:24, close in height to the Land Cruiser in the same scale.
It sells to people who owned one and to rally fans, and it is one of the few SUVs here that is not a Land Rover or a Mercedes.
Living with a 1:24 scale model
At 1:24 the model is around 19 cm long, compact enough for a desk and big enough for the doors to open and the dashboard to be readable. This is the scale to buy if you want a few cars rather than one, and the pull-back motor and lights make it the safest choice for a young enthusiast.
