About the Metal Body 4WD
A crawler is the opposite of a drift car: slow, geared for torque, and built to climb over things rather than slide past them. This one has a metal body over a 4WD chassis with independent suspension and coil-over shock absorbers at each corner, so it keeps all four tyres on the ground over a step or a rock and pulls itself up slopes a normal RC car would stall on.
The 2.4 GHz radio pairs to its own car and drives it forward, backward, left and right. The chunky tyres are soft rubber for grip. The battery is rechargeable and the controller takes AA cells, not included. It is happiest outdoors, on gravel, sand or a garden path.
It suits a child who wants to build obstacle courses and an adult who wants something to run in the garden, and it is the only off-road RC in the range.
Living with a RC car
This is a remote control car first and a model second: the body is plastic to keep weight down and the chassis carries the battery and steering servo. It charges over USB and runs for 20 to 30 minutes per charge.
