About the 1:16 High-Speed 4WD
The fibre black edition of the 1:16 drift car wears a shell printed in a carbon-weave pattern, which hides scuffs better than a painted colour and suits a car that will hit walls. Underneath it is the same chassis as the yellow and red cars: 4WD, slick drift tyres, a motor good for 25 km/h and a proportional 2.4 GHz radio with the speed-adjustment dial.
LED headlights and tail lights are wired into the shell. The battery charges over USB and runs around 25 minutes; the controller needs two AA cells, not included. Spare drift tyres are in the box, and the front pair wear first.
It suits an older child or an adult, and it is the edition we suggest for anyone who plans to drive it hard.
Living with a 1:16 RC car
This is a remote control car first and a model second: the body is plastic to keep weight down and the chassis carries the battery and steering servo. It charges over USB and runs for 20 to 30 minutes per charge.
